Houston, we have a problem...

Looks like the rumor i posted, i think a week ago or so, was just that, a rumor.......this is yet another "rumor", but apparently this is from a Rockets' insider who has some credibility.

Nothing is set yet, but Tmac appears to be on the trading block and rumor is Houston would trade him only to an Eastern team for the right price, whatver that means. There's rumors about Toronto, Orlando, Indiana.

Either way, what is NOT a rumor is that there's some trouble in Houston. If you haven't heard by now, Tmac complained about "only touching the ball every 5 mins" recently. during that same game Tmac was very uninterested and out of it, even playing matador defense on Jamario Moon when he literally stepped aside and allowed him to drive for a dunk. Later he took it back, saying after watching film he realized he had some opportunities and didn't take them, but it was too late. Local reporters are writing several teammates have confronted Tmac and basically told him to get his act straight. There's been a lot of quotes from the team to the media speaking about "brining energy and focus", and although they don't single anyone out, it's pretty clear they mean Tmac. Deke also spoke recently and said he's received calls from players who told him they desperately needed his leadership to get guys focused. Most recently, Tmac spoke about his critics, saying he knows he's having problems, but it's purely physical. He also said once he comes back front this, he, and not the critics, will have the last laugh....

T-Mac sounds more like a cancer than a superstar at this juncture. Thoughts, Rockets fans?

Well, its not a suprise, but I hate to have it come to this. Something needs to happen. Honestly? The only players who have played consistently well this year (imo) have been: Brooks/Wafer/Hayes and Landry.

Artest and Yao can go missing for quarters at a time and although they have been spectacular (thinking specifically against GS and Utah) but early on Yao was terrible (maybe thats injuries. Maybe not).

Tmac has been.... eh and Shane has been injured for almost the whole season.

Rafer shoots very strangely. Some games he's 7/112, other times 4/13!

Scola, still hasn't got it down pat.

I dunno RV... something has to give. What?

Yes I am severely pissed off at their play right now, but still, they are only 2/3 games off 3rd in the West and they've played the 2nd most road games in the entire league behind only Golden State....

One malcontent for another? Tracy for Marion?

Hursty, i agree about the consistent players, but i think Scola has came around lately, he's been very good the last 2 weeks or so. Barry looks better after coming back from injury. Although Yao doesn't always step up when he has to during games, by the end of the game he at least has decent stats, Tracy's had some piss-poor showings, not even trying at all. We're almost in mid-january and he's still not healthy, he's over a month behind schedule. The biggest problem is Tmac's motivation is a roller coaster, when challenged he comes out smoking, but when all the critics go away, so does he. So expect him to again come out firing tonight, but it won't last long so he'll stay on the block. However, i don't see Morey pulling the trigger on a one sided trade, so Houstonmay be forced to keep him.

Eboy, that's going to leave Houston in a worst situation than it could ever be with a lazy Tmac. Marion isn't a go to guy or someone who creates, he gets his within the offense. Houston needs someone more assertive and capable of offense. The rumors I've heard have mentioned JO, rashard lewis, several guys from Indy...

With the way he's been playing and his tendency to mail in games, it would seem that trading TMac would be the right move but would the Rockets want to give up that much star power and the potential for him to explode on any given night? It would be tough for them to get players back that would fill the McGrady hole.

It does seem that the Rockets play better without him, though...

Okafor and Raymond Felton for TMAC and Carl Landry? That wont happen, but in all realness, TMAC in Orlando would be beyond dope, yet wont happen. The Magic have GREAT chemistry, so Otis Smith wont destroy that.

and whye hell cant Yao be their leader? Or even Ron Ron? Shit the media said RON would be the cancer and TMAC would keep him in line. Why cant it be the other way around?

But i do somewhat see what TMAC is saying from a 'selfish ego trippin its all about me fuck the team' type view on things. That man has/can/will prove himself any time he is give a chance to.

I don't think Ron is very good at being a vocal leader, he's not a great speaker/motivator, but on the court he's won a few games for Houston on his own or pushed them ahead. I think even though Yao speaks english now, its not great, its not very fluent or clear, so it would be difficult at time for him to get his point across, especially when it has to be said quickly.

and the inside source to these rumors was the same guy who broke the Tmac trade on clutchfans.com, well before it was reported anywhere...he left the forum this quote "It's much uglier on the inside than on the outside and soon all that's inside will become 'outside' but I digress...and return to where I was before all of this" and hasn't posted since, so everyone thinks its some kind of prediction/hidden message....so everyone is trying to decipher it LOL..i think he's got some specific inside info, but only wants to drops hints since it's not a done deal.

Ok he actually posted again, and said this "The only 'insider' that exists is Daryl Morey. He's the only one. The thoughts originate in his head. This is HIS fantasy team. He'll do exactly what needs to be done. He's the insider - no one else. We all just drop crumbs when we can. It just so happens that they serve food in COLD places too, not just the southern part of North America."...so now they're trying to decipher THAT, kind of amusing, so far the best guess is Toronto...so perhaps O'neal + ?

Tmac would probably quit on the Raptors if he was traded there, but with Bosh possibly leaving (i believe) the same year tmac's contract expires, Toronto may just want him for cap space to keep Bosh and possibly sign someone else to keep him happy.

Well, one poster seems to make a good argument, the insider emphasized the words "back" and "cold", in his posts, possibly meaning he's going back to somewhere, which means Toronto, orlando and NC (charlotte), but Orlando isn't cold, so possibly Toronto or Charlotte, but to me charlotte doesn't fit as well as Toronto.

TMAC for anyone other than Diaw, Wallace, Okafor, or DJ would make me happy. Maybe Bell, Felton, Hollins, + Draft Picks?

Anonymous said...

oh and yall can have morrison

Anonymous said...

LOL, BET you deserve to get kicked out of Hibachi for even suggesting those options...but one of the posters suggested Okafor and wallace for tmac and landry, or something along those lines..

i am offering 70 second round picks

Hursty said...

Whatever. Re-sign Ron Ron at the end of the season and see what else goes on.
If we don't make it out of the 1st round, then blow it all to hell.
ps- Scola didnt seem like he had a 16 and 17 game today... vey quiet for those stats.
