The player with the biggest impact on the finals isnt even playing in it

I still havent watched 1 mintue of LIVE NBA Finals basketball this year, and it is just well enough suiting that i will be writting about a guy who has not played 1 minute of LIVE NBA Finals basketball this year.

BRIAN COOK IS THE ONLY REASON THIS SERIES IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW

I present: Brian Cook, international man of mystery. Without this man, neither team would be where they are today.

Proof?

November 20, 2007- Brian Cook and Maurice Evans to Orlando in exchange for Trevor Ariza to the Lakers

February 19, 2009- Brian Cook traded to Houston from Orlando as part of a 3 team that got Orlando Rafer Alston.

So lets review:
Without Brian, the Lakers would not have gotten Trevor Ariza.
Without Brian, the Magic would not have gotten Rafer Alston.
Without Trevor Ariza, the Lakers would not be in the finals.
Without Rafer Alston, the Magic would not be in the finals.

Suprising? I noticed this when the finals first started, here is my take on this:

but this is really just me mocking the NBA Finals for having a player like Brian Cook being able to fetch the top contributing player on each team. When my friends ask me why i am not watching the finals this year, i simply inform them that as far as i care, both teams can lose and neither team is really anything special. Both teams have special players, but neither team is a special team (obviously they dont do any punting or kick returns, but its not that type of special team either)

Haha! Thx for a good piece! I needed it. When Green runs through your blood, seeing the Lakers with the O'Brien trophy is like watching your ex-girl swap spit with your best buddy. Thx BET-great stuff.

Looks like you did your research on this one BET. Yeah, the Lakers should thank Brian Cook for their chip. Great piece btw. :D

It's all over. Punting or kick returns......nice. But you're right, neither team is the '08 Celtics or the 2000's Spurs here.

Late - no pass - study hall for me. Cook is surprisingly not mad at his low chip stack, repping it at the table. "I got 8 green chips and a red. Whatchu know about this? 130 dollars go hard all day"
I saw some nice Mos Def links here and up on the Walsh area before. I hadn't been paying attention, but his actual brand new album dropped last week, not that strange story of released early or what Tru3 Magic infamous no cover or anythign really CD. Anyone pick it up? I linked to the Last.fm in my name URL blue link, the whole album can be heard for free like imeem, without signing up even. Sounds okay soo far, critics tagged up on Wiki/Metacritic like it at least 80% or 4/5 stars. He even had a youtube walking around in Japan dropping knowledge about how awesome overalls are while acapella-ing one of his new tracks.
